Red Limit is a combination of base ideas borrowed from scientific theories, and other original works, however the bulk of Red Limit is conprised of new, original ideas, in the sense that they are not part of another original work. History
In the year 2096, Earth made a historic step forward. Warp propulsion went from a concept to a reality. Warp 1.2 was achived, sending human kind into the 22nd century with a newley found need for exploration. Weiting humankind's explorative roots made for a remarkable boom of space technology. The man leading this boom into space was Alexander LeCroix. LeCroix made warp 1.5 possible, and created the first theories on an energy more potent than anti-matter reactions.
Over the course of years, Earthlings discovered many new races, and came to discover that an odd phenomia was present: the majority of space close to Earth was populated by humanoid beings. The Angelians were one of the first humanoid species to be detected. The only major difference in them and humans is that their shoulder blades have evolved to accompany large, usally white wings. As such, many religions felt they had some devine connection, which was quickly dismissed.
Today, in 1367 SD (Star Date), humankind is has mapped more than a third of the Milkyway, recorded countless species, and created many different colonies on formerly uninhabited planets. Throughout the universe, however, many planets have populations that are lacking technologically, and lack the power of space travel.
